Case Study: Buckeye, Arizona

The Buckeye, Arizona, Economic Development staff tasked NEF with studying the area’s ability to serve as a destination for fiber-intensive data center projects. The research was also to relate to and encompass other growth opportunities in commercial real estate such as office parks, retail centers and corporate headquarters as well.

As part of the engagement, NEF surveyed over 600 square miles of the city, mapped out all of the existing fiber optic infrastructure, and analyzed the core requirements necessary for a data center. The result was a 50-page report used by the Town of Buckeye Economic Development team to enhance market efforts, improve due diligence for mission-critical projects and demonstrate a business-friendly environment to enterprises.
