FiberLocator Accepts Carrier Maps & Lit Building Data at COMPTEL

NEF’s High Cap Optical Mapping Database is Open to New Carrier Submissions at the COMPTEL Plus Expo

NEWTON, Mass. (September 29, 2011) – NEF, a leading telecommunications consulting and procurement firm focused on dark fiber, colocation and high-capacity bandwidth, announces today that its rapidly-growing mapping database, FiberLocator, will accept high capacity optical maps, lit building data and data center location information from carriers at the COMPTEL Plus Fall 2011 Convention & Expo. Carriers can submit their data and maps for inclusion in the FiberLocator database at no charge to gain invaluable exposure to their target audiences.

Competing for mindshare and buying interest among business IT and telecom decision makers is becoming increasingly difficult for CLECs. Buyers are becoming much more self-sufficient in gathering competitive quotes and vetting information — and they're bombarded with advertising from the local incumbent. So how does an alternate carrier reach prospects and stay top-of-mind in their prospects’ time of need? They do so by being findable when prospective buyers are beginning their search for network and by maintaining a presence in trusted third-party research tools such as FiberLocator.

At COMPTEL, FiberLocator is introducing CLECs to its comprehensive database of carrier and data center assets that prospects use every day to research, procure and ultimately decide on network connectivity. Carriers and data center operators will have the opportunity to view the FiberLocator online application and submit their network and lit building information at the show. The more exposure CLECs can get to buyers and their peer groups, the better the chances of creating a qualified sales opportunity.
