Michael Murphy, President/CEO
Leadership, performance and collaboration have been the themes of Michael Murphy’s 20 year telecom career. Murphy brings over 15 years of sales and management experience to NEF, with 13 years working directly with dark fiber, high capacity optical networks and data centers. He has extensive first-hand experience with network planning and implementation as well as forming and cultivating strategic alliances and channel partners throughout the nation. Murphy has negotiated contracts and facilitated deals with nearly all the major national carriers and has successfully developed regional assets to round out NEF’s service offerings. He brings his experience working with numerous Fortune 1000 companies as well as small outfits to offer diverse and inventive strategies for any size business. He leads NEF with an emphasis on personalized service for each client and a solutions-based approach to network planning.
Steve McCarthy, Partner/COO
With over 18 years in the telecom industry, Steve McCarthy is a well respected strategist, operations executive and business development catalyst. Steve has a diverse telecommunications background including experience at small telecom outfits as well as having achieved a top 5 sales region for industry giant MCI. Steve has helped lead NEF to impressive year-over-growth in revenue and profitability, and has pioneered the effort to make fiber network maps and data such as lit buildings and data center locations commercially available with the launch of the FiberLocator.
Mike Spieldenner, Vice President, Consulting
Mike Spieldenner brings over 25 years of experience in the telecom industry to NEF encompassing operations, engineering, sales and business development. Mike’s ability to understand and view problems from various perspectives enables him to devise, assemble and implement creative solutions for clients. Mike heads up NEF’s consulting and analysis practice and plays a pivotal role in high capacity optical network design for NEF’s brokerage business. His telecom expertise and wide range of relationships with providers greatly enhance NEF’s ability to deliver mission critical recommendations and solutions to enterprise clients of all types.
John Pomposello, Vice President, Sales
John Pomposello leads NEF’s sales organization and brings an abundance of industry experience, having spent over two decades in telecommunications in both sales and management roles. Pomposello’s knowledge includes a blend of dark fiber and lit services as well as emerging sectors such as cloud and colocation that will enable clients in a variety of industries to achieve business objectives and gain tremendous value from technology.
Charlie McLravy, Capital Advisors
Charlie McLravy has worked in the communications industry, primarily media and telecommunications, for over 30 years. While Charlie has extensive experience as an operator, his primary skill sets are in deal making, strategy, and finance. He brings his vast experience and enviable educational background to his role with NEF Capital Advisors as a lead in business development and data center and fiber network asset sales. He is the key driver at NEF for attracting and marketing telecom assets including operating companies, data centers, managed service providers, fiber assets, bandwidth, and towers.
